چکیده

e-ASTROGAM (‘enhanced ASTROGAM’) is a breakthrough Observatory mission dedicated to the study of the non-thermal Universe in the Alessandro De Angelis INFN Padova, Via Marzolo 8, I-35141 Padova, Italy; also at INAF Padova, Udine University, and LIP/IST Lisboa Tel.: +39-049-967.7364 E-mail: [email protected] Vincent Tatischeff CSNSM, CNRS and Univ Paris-Sud, F-91405 Orsay Cedex, France Tel.: +33-(0)1-69 15 52 41 E-mail: [email protected] ar X iv :1 61 1. 02 23 2v 2 [ as tr oph .H E ] 8 N ov 2 01 6 2 The e-ASTROGAM Collaboration photon energy range from 0.3 MeV to 3 GeV. The mission is based on an advanced space-proven detector technology, with unprecedented sensitivity, angular and energy resolution, combined with polarimetric capability. In the largely unexplored MeV-GeV domain, e-ASTROGAM will open a new window on the non-thermal Universe, making pioneering observations of the most powerful Galactic and extragalactic sources, elucidating the nature of their relativistic outflows and their effects on Galactic ecosystems. With a line sensitivity in the MeV energy range one to two orders of magnitude better than previous generation instruments, e-ASTROGAM will determine the origin of key isotopes fundamental for the understanding of supernova explosion and the chemical evolution of our Galaxy. The mission will provide unique data of significant interest to a broad astronomical community, complementary to powerful observatories such as LIGO-Virgo-GEO600-KAGRA, SKA, ALMA, E-ELT, TMT, LSST, JWST, Athena, CTA, IceCube, KM3NeT, and the promise of eLISA.

توزیع چندگانگی ذرات باردار در نابودی +e-e در انرژی مرکز جرم GeV54-57 و مقیاس KNO

In this paper, we investigate the multiplicity of charged particles in e+ e– annihilation by using different models. To achieve this we first fit the multiplicity distribution of charged particles in the energy range of 54-57 GeV by using both the Poisson distribution and KNO scaling, then we compare these results with multiplicity distribution at the lower energies. This comparison shows that...

The AGILE Mission

Context. AGILE is an Italian Space Agency mission dedicated to the observation of the gamma-ray Universe. The AGILE very innovative instrumentation combines for the first time a gamma-ray imager (sensitive in the energy range 30 MeV 50 GeV), a hard X-ray imager (sensitive in the range 18-60 keV) together with a Calorimeter (sensitive in the range 300 keV 100 MeV) and an anticoincidence system. ...

PEP-N: A 0.8 GeV × 3.1 GeV Collider at SLAC

The PEP-N project is a proposed new e+e− collider at SLAC to operate in the center of mass energy range of 1.0 GeV to 3.1 GeV. PEP-N consists of a new Very Low Energy electron Ring VLER (< 800 MeV) to collide with the PEP-II e+ Low Energy Ring LER (3.1 GeV) parasitically to PEP-II operation for BaBar. Since the e+ ring has a fixed energy, the very low energy ring needs an energy range of 100 Me...

Statistical uncertainty estimation in the calculation of the proton range in water phantom.

Introduction: GATE (Geant4 Application for Tomographic Emission) is a Monte Carlo simulation platform developed by the OpenGATE collaboration since 2001 and first publicly released in 2004. In Geant4, each physics process is described by a model (several models are sometimes available for a given physics process) and a corresponding cross-section table. All Geant4 physics model...

Knowledge, Attitude and Practices Regarding Extreme Environments and Cold Adaptation at Extreme Altitudes on the Himalayan Ranges

Introduction: Extreme-altitudes (5500 m/18045 ft and higher) pose environmental, psychophysiological, infrastructural, logistic, and ergonomic challenges that question explorer’s adaptability and mission-efficiency due to isolation, monotony, intimidating environment and terse health conditions. The assessment of an explorer’s comprehensive adaptability in extreme-altitudes is ...
